The ethico-political practices of selected South African managers
Abstract
The thesis reports on my exploratory investigation of the ethico-political practices of selected South African managers. A small number of similar studies have been conducted in organisations across the globe but very little in South Africa. This is the gap that I found in the literature relating to ethics and politics in organisations. In my theoretical framework, I conceptualise ethics as a relation to the self (a set of standards one sets for oneself), as well as being a responsibility to the other which includes having to deal with the multiple demands made by others. Employing a qualitative research approach, eight case studies were investigated.
