dc.description.abstractIntroduction: Preventive strategies that address peri-implant diseases can only be developed appropriately when there is thorough knowledge of the prevalence of disease based on standardized assessment protocols and case definitions Aims and objectives: The aim of this cross-sectional study was to evaluate the prevalence of the peri-implant health and disease in patients who received implants during the period 2012-2018 in the Department Oral Medicine and Periodontics Clinic, University of the Western Cape. Methods: The information for the vectors of the Implant Disease Risk Assessment tool was obtained from the files of participants. A comprehensive periodontal examination was performed.en_US
