Identifying the domains used by Afrikaans speaking people In describing their health related quality of life
Abstract
It is widely acknowledged that the personal burden of disease cannot be described fully
by measures of disease status. Psychosocial factors must be encompassed. Health-
related quality of life research is an area of research that has been used to assess the
effects of illness and treatments on daily life activities and life satisfaction. Health related
quality of life can be defined as the value assigned to the duration of life as modified by
the impairments, functional states, perceptions and social opportunities that are
influenced by disease, treatment and health care delivery.
