By exploring the different causes of childhood statelessness in displaced children on a global scale, this thesis aims to highlight the urgent need to end childhood statelessness. The importance of statelessness determination procedures will also be considered, and in turn the lessons South Africa can gain will be explored. The thesis argues, based on a literature review, that there are patterns that contribute to statelessness, and if these patterns are recognised, laws and policies can be implemented to combat them.en_US
